Bio-mass / Bio-Gas
The term bio-mass can be applied to any fuel type derived from anything recently living.
There are two main categories, woody bio-mass, include wood that has been processed from forestry and arboricultural activities or from furniture makers, and non woody bio-mass,
include high energy crops such as oil seed rape, sugar cane and maize.
For small scale domestic applications, wood fuel usually takes the form of wood pellets which are small pieces of wood typically less than 2cm long which have been partially seasoned to reduce their moisture content.
